My Children ~ My Special Treasures

Just like any mom, my children mean the world to me.  They make me smile, they give me tears of joy (and at times other tears), but they have brought to me a part of happiness I was unaware of before I had them.

They are my friends and they are my special treasures.  Below are some photos of my little ones.  First is my daughter Bella, who is now 4 and the second section is my son, Scout, who is 6 months old.  Hard to chose from thousands of photos, but here a some…

“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.”
Psalm 127:3

Water Cooler Monday – Week Ending 8-30-09

watercoolermondaysm Here it is Monday again – AND it’s the last day of August.  Are you kidding me?  I’m amazed at how fast this summer – well, year – has gone.  We are starting to get cooler weather, more fall like, which is really nice.  I enjoy fall.  When I was younger, summer was my season – but I’ve switched to autumn and am glad it’s almost here.

Well, this week in review will include a visit to my grand-parent’s house, 2 more play dates, my grand parents birthday bbq, NEW HAIR pics (finally) and a look at a couple posts I’m working on for this week.  I made a great dessert for the BBQ and I’ll post that recipe later this week as well….

So – here we go:

Scout and his great grandma.

This was another play date at a park called Civic Green.  It was a really cool park where the kids can walk in ‘streams’ and play in the water.  Nice for hot days.

Bella has always been a climber and enjoyed this contraption to play on.  She also looks adorable in a bikini :o)
Photobucket
How cool is that?

This is the park and you can kind of see the water play area.

More park.

My ‘little’ Scout.  He likes the noise this little doorway makes.

Bella and me in our aprons while we were baking the yummy ‘Chocolate Bottom Bites with Cream Cheese’ treats.

Cake for the grand parents.  They both celebrate their birthdays in August.  My grandpa turned 78 and my grandma turned 77.
Photobucket

Mmmmm.  Food.

Yummy fruit, dip and peanut butter filled pretzels.

My dad grilling the sausages.  My grandpa ENJOYS sausage.
Photobucket

I was bugging him and he was starting to get sassy with me.

My brother Dan ( right ) and my nephew, Cody.

Bella was upset and I was trying to tickle her and make her laugh.

This is Jesse, the first pug of our family.  He lives with my parents and next weekend he will be 12 years old.

This is Brayden, my cousins’ little boy.

My little model.

Scout and his great Aunt Jo-Jo (Joanna)

Me not liking the camera, so I have to make some silly face.

The back of my new hair.

The side of my new hair.  I need to buy me some hair paste (from Aveda, of course), so I can spike it a bit :o)
Photobucket

Me trying to poof the hair.  Okay, so photographs usually add 10, 15, 20, 30 pounds to a person, but it deflates your hair big time.  My sister in law was quick to point out why Beauty pageant contestants have such poofy hair.  Now I see why.

Me, Scout and my great aunt Florence.

Me and my favorite little guy!

Scout chewing on uncle ‘Digger’s’ hat.  We have called my brother Digger since he was crawling.  He is now 30 and we still call him that.  Not sure he likes it, but oh well ;o)

Me and my grandpa.

    • So, this week I will be doing a post on the new dessert I made.  It was very good.  It calls for rum ( I used rum extract) and they are delicious.
    • I will also do a post called ‘Doug, Oh Doug, Where is Your….Spine’.  This is a post in honor of a commenter on my blog this weekend who wrote a book against some things on my blog and then left no way for me to get back in touch with him.  Yep, no spine.  For all who don’t know – personal blogs are not debate forums.  Whatever!
    • Then I have another post called, ‘I’m Just Not That Into You’.  I will also post ‘Part Trois’ of What Does It Mean To You.
    • I also think that I will be, in the near future, start a weekly study on the book of Proverbs.  I SO ENJOY that book in the Bible and have learned so much.  We can all learn so much from those pages!

So, off to pay some bills, play with kids and find something to eat.  Have a great Monday and I’ll be back tomorrow!
