Beautiful Colorado Snow – All Two Feet Of It

So you all know we had us a snow storm this week.  Here are some photos I took.  This much snow so early on in the season is not normal – but we’re use to the unexpected here in Colorado.  We know how to adjust on a moment’s notice.  They said we got between 2 and 3 feet of snow here in the foothills.  They were right!  We had around 2 feet with drifts a tad higher :o)

These are PRE-STORM.  The view from my back yard.

This was THE DAY AFTER THE STORM.  I took these from our upstairs office this morning (10.30.09) – tell me that isn’t the prettiest thing you’ve seen in a long time!

The glow is from the sun coming up.  The mountains are West – so it’s the reflection of the sun coming up in the East.

Gorgeous!

Now we have another week of sun which will be nice.  Roads are already back to normal, just lots of snow to be melted!

There you go!  A taste of Colorado!  Are you cold yet, Brandi???

Advice is like snow - the softer it falls, the longer it dwells upon, and the deeper in sinks into the mind.

The Cutest Little Duck

Here are some photos of Scout from Wednesday at Bella’s school.  He makes a darling duck.  Today I dressed him up as a Santa – so cute.  Will get those pics up later this weekend.  Don’t you just want to squeeze this little ducky!
By the way – my Scout got his first tooth to pop through yesterday.  Yep.  Bottom left front.  My baby is growing up :o)

I took some pretty pictures of our snow.  Where we live got between 2-3 feet the past two days.  Wow.  The blue sky is showing today and the streets are clear, which makes for a beautiful Colorado day!  Will do that post later if I have time.  If not, this weekend :o)
Tonight we are going to our church’s Harvest Carnival.  They are tons of fun with gobs of candy, games for the kids, big bouncy castles and slides, pony rides, petting zoo, popcorn, cotton candy, yum, yum, yum!  They invite the whole community for this free event which is cool.  Taking the kiddos and my nephew!  What a fun, loud, sugar filled evening.  At least I get to take the nephew home and he can be crazy with his mom :o)
What are your plans this weekend?

The Prettiest Princess At The Ball

(The Princess Belle costume photos are below the pumpkin ones.)

I realize I’m biased, but my Bella was absolutely beautiful yesterday for her Harvest Parade at school.  All the kids looked so cute, but of course I thought my Bella was the prettiest princess there!

I was so excited.  Yes.  I’m ONE.OF.THOSE.MOMS.  Seriously.  I took 158 pictures (really) in 45 minutes.  I so enjoy my Canon Rebel camera.  But I took 158 pictures and I was smiling from ear to ear.  Why?  Because this year my daughter actually enjoyed her parade.  Last year she DESPISED it.  She was mad because she was a pumpkin and all her friends were princesses.  Then she mad because me and my mom were there.  She wouldn’t sing the cute songs.  She wouldn’t remove her finger from her mouth.  And she wouldn’t hold her head up.  She was MAD!

Finger in Mouth.  Head down.

BUT….This year she was waving to the ‘crowd’ – as if we were all there to see her!  She smiled so big.  She walked with her head high.  She even sang some of the songs!  Way to go Bella!  You are what your daddy always tells you you are:

So, here’s a little timeline of my girl, I mean my Princess.  Now, unfortunately it was snowing and freezing, so we put a turtleneck on under her dress.  Maybe on Saturday we won’t need to turtleneck!  It was snowing so bad that they shut the school down after the parade (I was so glad they didn’t do it before, we would have had a sobbing princess, crying drops of gold glitter all over the place).  Pretty much every school in Colorado was closed yesterday.   So, here it is!

She was up at 6:30 wanting to get ready.  So, we started with the Velcro curlers for some volume.  Fine blonde hair doesn’t have it on it’s own :o)

After curlers, curling iron, cosmetic glitter, cream blush and Aveda Firmata hair spray (that stuff is amazing)

Wish you could really see all the glitter – on her face and shoulders and in her hair.  It was so sparkly!

With a tired mama!  I was up with Scout most of the night, then up at 5:45 to start the day.  Ahhh, the joys of mommyhood!

So, if they have school tomorrow, she gets to dress up again.  Then tomorrow night for a Harvest Carnival at church.  Then on Saturday to go trick or treating.  What a dream for a little girl – to dress up as a princess so much in one week!

I’ll have more to post of her and Scout the Duck on Water Cooler Monday.  Right now we are sitting in about 16+ inches of snow right now – I should post some pics – you know for those of you who don’t get to experience snow like we do :o)

Stay warm (Brandi, keep cool – keep that A/C running!)   And now, to try to catch up on all the blogs I didn’t get to yesterday!  Good day for reading, huh!
