Yes, I’m Still Talking About My Hair

….and if this is boring anyone, I will throw in a short True Story Tuesday story at the end of this post so you can all see how blonde smart I am!

Well, I got some pics yesterday of my hair and it turned out so-so.  The photos were taken about 6:00 pm after a long day of running around and being out in the snow at least 6 times – making my hair a bit flat and stiff thanks the the spike glue I use in my hair to make it stay in place.  The stuff works too!  Glue for the hair.  Now that’s innovative.

So, here’s the ones from last night and then I’ll show you some that I took today!

I could have taken 100 more pics – it’s easy when you’re amusing your kids at the same time!  Anything to make them laugh :o)

IN YOUR OPINION:
Should I highlight my hair again (
like this…it will open in a new window) or do an all over color?

TRUE STORY TUESDAY

In late June of 2000 I went with my hubby (well, at the time he was my non-hubby) up to Glenwood Springs for the day with his dad, step mom and half brothers.  They went every year and non-hubby hubby invited me to go this year since we were engaged and getting married in November of that same year.

Anyhoodle….for those who don’t know Glenwoood Springs is an amazing place in the Colorado mountains that has natural hot springs.

6-7-06s The Hot Springs Lodge has the most amazing huge pool that is naturally warm and you are surrounded by gorgeous mountain views.  DSC04294This place is open year round – even in the winter.  We went for our 3rd anniversary (November 2003) and it was snowing and we would sit in the pool at night and watch the snow fall down.  Gorgeous – but I digress.

Again, it was late June 2000 and we’re at the pool.  We’re just hanging out and all of sudden there is the parade of people walking around dressed all Pioneer-y and such carrying flags and banners.  They were ‘advertising’ for the up coming Fourth of July parade that Glenwood puts on.

So, we’re watching them parade around and I kept seeing flags that had the number “76” on them.  After about the 4th one, I looked at non-hubby hubby and asked,

“What does the 76 stand for?”

And, as per usual, I didn’t even let him answer before my brilliant mind came up with the answer on it’s own..

"Oh, I know.  That’s because Colorado was the 76th state!” I said proudly.

But once the words left my mouth, I realized what I had said and I glanced at my fiancé and saw him staring at me the same ‘DUH’ look that I give my mom (you can read about those in my TST posts about her by clicking here).  He just shook his head and smiled (and allowed me time to figure out what it really meant.)

It finally occurred to me what the 76 stood for – and I’m sure I would have figured out sooner if there wasn’t chuckling coming from Mr. Know It All Fiancé, making me lose my focus and concentration.  It stood for the year 1776 (which I’m sure all you smart people ALREADY figured out).  Amazing. Our first Independence Day.  Yep.  Good thing we were already engaged, because I’m not sure that would have impressed him too much otherwise.

Now, don’t sit there and think how dumb I am for saying Colorado was the 76th state.  Obama during his campaigning said on camera that he  “had already traveled to 57 states and had a few more to go.”  Uh huh!  I’m not the only one!

Well – hope you enjoyed the hair photos and my blonde story.  There’s more of those that I’ll have to share over time!

If it makes you feel better, I read about Colorado being the 76th state and kept right on going not realizing what you said until you explained it.

I love, love, LOVE your hair! So cute! I am thinking about getting my hair cut short for the summer, but I have no idea how to get it done.

My vote on the coloring would be highlights. ;)

Love the hair!!! Too cute! And you already know how to fix it like a pro.

Laughed out loud at the story...but only because that was something I would do!

First off your hair is adorable! I bet it's super easy to maintain, well if not you make it look great like anyone could do it. ;) I think you should do the highlights again. They look fantastic before! Just make sure they are fine highlights and not chunky. I hate when the hair starts to look all zebra like and not very pretty anymore when you have to go and get touch-ups. Well unless you like that sort of thing?!

I was laughing so hard at your 76 comment! I think it would still be fuel for my hubby to tease me about to this day. But don't we all have those moments? Unfortunately now I have mommy brain and have them a lot more then I would like to admit. ;)

LOL - that is too funny. We all have those DOH moments... and I've been great at those lately.

That place sounds like an amazing spot for vacation! I am bookmarking it for my wish list!

Your hair is SO cute! And normally I say people shouldn't dye, but you're a health food store girl like me - and you totally rocked the home-color kit. Love the chunky blone highlights!

(And the silly pictures! :)

And umm... did your mom threaten you with some kind of payback so that she didn't have to be the TST muse this week? hee hee

Katie said...

That is so cute!! You look one hot mama. I would be talking picture too if I I looked like that. I always don't know if I should highlight or color or both. It looks great the way it is is so stay with it.

Sarah said...

Hot mama!! I love it!! I bet it feels great to have a nice crisp bright hairstyle in the midst of a Colorado winter.

What a great haircut! Mommy says she has such a round face that she looks like a lollipop when she has short hair so she's jealous of anyone who can pull it off!

Holly said...

I think the cut looks great on you! I actually like the color it is now. That's so funny about the TST! It's funny what we say when we don't' quite think it through. :)
