I WON! I WON! I WON!

Seriously – I actually won  a give away.  A cool one at that.  I normally don’t enter give aways unless they are from my bloggy friends, so I haven’t entered that many – but I actually WON one!  I also received some cool blog awards that I’ve listed below.  Don’t skip those – you might learn some interesting stuff about me!

 3-11-10 001

Lori at Peterson St. Louis (one of my bloggy friends) hosted a give away for a 15 piece Pyrex bake ‘n serve set and HELLO – guess who got it delivered to my front porch this week????  For those of you who don’t know, Pyrex is awesome.  And even though it is THAT awesome, I’ve never owned any – up until this week :o)  To top it off, I’m a baking fanatic – so this will come in handy.  I’m so excited and so grateful!  Thank you, Lori!

3-11-10 003

I’ll be putting some of the pieces to use this weekend since I was informed by my dad earlier this week that I needed to make him something ‘yummy’.  Um, okay, da-da-daddy-o!!  I’ll be sure to fill you all in on that wonderful dessert!

I also wanted to take this time to acknowledge some bloggy love I have recently received!  I am grateful for kind thoughts and words from other bloggers, so I do not see this as petty or silly – I’m very appreciative.

So, here are some awards I received and am passing along:

Rebecca at  A Southern Boy and a City Girl passed along this to me.

beautiful blogger

Here are 7 random things about me!

1. I can blink my right eye without moving any part of my face.  Like an old, scary looking baby doll.  I’m cool like that.

2. I didn’t know until about a week ago that I didn’t own an ironing board.  Seriously.  My mom called to see if I had one she could use (she had thrown her old one out and hadn’t bought a new one yet).  I had no idea if I had one, so I went in the basement to see and lo and behold – no ironing board. (Kristin might be disappointed in me on this one)

3. Growing up I never wanted to get married or have kids.  I never planned my wedding as most girls do.  That didn’t interest me.  I wanted to be single and travel.

4. One time at a concert, while I was in high school, an inebriated guy came up to me and told me I was going home with him.  After a few words back and forth, he went to punch the guy next to me (my friend’s boyfriend), but instead he punched me in the jaw.  Adrenaline kicked in and I took the guy by the shirt, yelled at him and threw him to the ground HARD – straight on his butt.  Security came and escorted him out.  When I told my parents, my mom was all ‘we shouldn’t let you go to concerts anymore with that kind of stuff going on…’ and my totally cool dad was all excited and giving me high fives.  His daughter stood up for herself and he was one proud daddy!  I can still see the smile on his face!

5. I’m stealing this from Rebecca, but it’s true for me.  I fold my underwear.  Even the not so easy to fold kind.  It freaks people out, but I can’t just shove it in a drawer.  That sort of chaos would keep me awake at night, restless.

6. I can drop pregnancy and baby weight like 3rd period French.  That is my pregnancy bonus for feeling nauseated for 9 months straight.  It’s been a year since Scout was born and I am 10 pounds under my pre-pregnancy weight.  Boohya!

7. I have to sleep with 2 pillows.  One  firm pillow and one down pillow.  Then I put them in the shape of an upside down V and lay where the two meet.  I’ve done this for about 8 years.

So, in my standard of passing along blog awards, I want to pass this along to everyone who owns a pet!  Any kind of pet!  The award is yours!

Nicolasa Low Expectations passed along this to me.

bogieaward_thumb[2] "This award means you're really going places, Baby. You'll still be blogging about your great adventures 10 years from now, and I'll still be reading them."

And I’m suppose to write about where I think I’ll be in 10 years!  I have different scenarios in my head.  I definitely know I want to be changing lives on a daily basis and that could be through my ‘coaching’ on health and nutrition or being a birthing and labor doula or financing people to go take the Word of God around the world so other people can have the hope and Love I have from knowing Jesus …. the possibilities are endless.

One thing that wouldn’t bother me, though, that in the midst of all of that, that I would  be living next door to Nicolasa on the beach, where we will see each other daily with our kids, cameras, flip flops and sarongs!  At least having a part time home on the beach would be nice!

I pass this along to everyone who has been blogging for at least a year now!  One person in particular I want to pass this along to is Kristin at These Little Girls of Mine!  She always wants to be doing more, helping more, learning more!  A girl after my own heart!  You don’t find dedication like that too often!

Michele at ‘Mich’ passed this along to me.

sunshineblogaward[1]

I'm suppose to pass this little award along, so that it might brighten someone else's day.

I follow over 200 blogs, so there is no way I can narrow this down.  Daily I am laughing and smiling over something one of you has blogged about.  I am intrigued by all the different personalities and senses of humor out there!  You all make me smile!  So – you all get this one!

Beth at Laugh Until You Cry passed these along to me.  So sweet to get two from her!

sunshineblogaward

 beautifulbloggeraward

So with these, I’ll pass these along to anyone who has over 100 posts on their blog!

May you all keep blogging and keeping us all smiling, laughing, crying and learning!  Love to all my bloggy friends!

And I told you all I recolored my hair and I haven’t taken any photos yet, so I took this quickly this morning before I wrote this post.  I just dried it, so it’s not fully done yet.  Not the best photo of me – I’m woman enough to admit that!  But, my color is no longer white, but back to blonde! Is it just me or do I look like a camel???  Anyhooodle…

Bummer, I was hoping I was first!!
anywho, Love the story on how you beat up a guy! Way to go!!

Kristin said...

Hee hee....now that I made sure to be first, I can say Thank You So Much for what you said and for the award. You just don't know how much I needed that this week. I have the enemy whispering in my ear over here to just give up and I'm trying to fight, but I'm having a hard time. So, for you to say that, it really does mean the world to me. Thank you so much for always encouraging me and inspiring me to be myself and do what God has planned for me!

I even forgive you for not having an ironing board. Hahaha!! :D

That was an awesome prize giveaway too! And I can just picture you throwing some guy down! Oh, and I gained 10 lbs per pregnancy, so now I have 30 lbs to lose. :( We need you to do some health/nutrition posts on here!

oooo fun, now you have some cooking to do. {i better put up a new recipe soon} hehe

Daddy Bub said...

Ladies it is very, very sad that y'all have nothing better to do than try to be first. BAHAHAHAHA.

The ONLY reason, ahem KIMBER, that I wasn't first is because I'm having some computer issues this a.m. (and BTW, this is not Daddy Bub... it's Brandi).

Congrats on your win! You will certainly put that to good use with all your baking.

I'm trying to understand how an OCD gal who folds her underwear does NOT own an iron???

Lastly, *sniff* I was a little upset that you don't want to live by your twin at the beach... but that other chic is your SIL, right? Okay, I forgive. ;)

Foursons said...

Again- best for last! And I know that Kimber and Brandi have no idea that being 1st is for losers because they aren't coming back to read the comments after they post their's. Hahaha- LOSERS!

OK- you have to post video of your eye blink. That is seriously creepy.

Congrats a whole bunch!! I just have to tell you, that although I have an ironing board I do not use it, and I do the exact same thing with my pillows and cannot sleep any other way. =)

Brandi said...

Whew, I'm myself now... and I forgot to tell you that you most certainly do not look like a camel (if you look like a camel, I look like a camel).

Also, for Julie's info, I am a professional stalker and I most certainly DO come back and read comments after I post mine. Ahem.

Can we just say I win and get it over with already?!

But the blinky eye thing creeps me out a little Kari! I still ♥ ya anyway though!

Lol!! I don't own an ironing board right now, either!! Mine broke about a year ago and I just never replaced it! And yes, Kristin would be disappointed in us : )

Veronica said...

Congrats on your giveaway win! I can't believe you've never owned anything Pyrex before! :) I got some when I registered for it before our wedding and I must say I can't live without mine!

Congrats on all the blog awards! That is too cool. LOL about not owning an ironing board and how Kristin would be disappointed! As much as she and I are like the same person, that is just one thing we do not have in common! I hate ironing!

Also wanted to let you know I got your email. I work on replying back to that as soon as I can!

Just had to read this post (it was in the "You might also like" area)... the "I WON! I WON! I WON!" caught my eye and I had to see what you won. I totally LOVE Pyrex!

ROTFL @ all your bits and pieces about yourself. Especially the pillows. Which I have you beat on. I hafta use 3 pillows to sleep with. Not that they all stay under my head, mind you... but they comfort me and my poor brain. Ha.

And NO you do not look like a camel. LOL! ♥
