The Mommy Hat.

siblings

On any given day, every person can wear a multitude of hats.  On a normal day I am a cook, a chauffer, a house cleaner, a veterinarian (pugs and pigs in this house), a daughter, a wife, a friend, a crafter, a laundry folder, an accountant and the list goes on and on.

As of Monday night at 11pm, the hat I have worn and that has been priority has been ‘The Mommy Hat’ – and everything else has been pushed to the back burner.

The clothes aren’t getting washed.  The kitchen is piling up with dishes.  The kitchen table is more of a landing place for everything else but dishes at dinnertime.  The floors need to be swept.  The checkbook needs to be balanced.  So much has been left undone.

Instead of doing those things, I’ve been busy holding a little boy who spent 7 hours getting sick Monday night.  I rocked him for about 6 hours straight, holding his head over a bowl every 20 minutes so he could throw up.  Today I’ve had the job of holding back my daughter’s long blond hair as she has leaned over the toilet or a bowl so she could throw up.

I’ve rubbed backs, gave long hugs, sang songs, read Bible scriptures, prayed over my kids, declared healing in their bodies and took the roll of Mommy very seriously.

We make sure we don’t magnify the sickness in our home, but we focus on God’s will for us to live in divine health.  As I’ve stated before on my blog, every mother has a healing ministry.  What mom wants to watch her children get attacks on their physical body?  None that I know of.  We are not the sick trying to get healed, we are the healed maintaining our health.

So, for now, the house will stay a mess.  The dishes won’t get cleaned and I might not get to style my hair and put on all my make-up – but I will be performing the most important job of all and that is wearing ‘The Mommy Hat’ for two little kids who look to me like I can fix anything.  I’m very clear with them that God is the only one who can fix anything – but mommies are a close second!

It’s never fun watching your vibrant, outgoing children just lay there with no energy, not many smiles and uncomfortable.  I do know that this is temporary and subject to change and while we are standing for manifestation, I will be the best mommy I can be to my kids!

May I be so bold to say that tomorrow will be completely different and my kids will be 100% better?  Of course I can!  I know The Great Physician!

BRANDI.JULIE.KIMBER…
Your questions for Wednesday are:

1.  Which World Series did I attend with hubby, my dad and hubby’s dad?

2.  Do I have any siblings?  If so, specifically tell me how many and what they are.

3.  What are the names of the 4 pugs in this family?

4.  Bonus (ha ha)…what is the name of our piggy?

Again, no answers until after Friday’s post AND OTHER READERS, DON’T leave any of the answers in the comments – we don’t want any cheating from these girls, do we???

I'm so sorry things have been so rough these last couple of days. My girls have been battling sickness around here too and I've been claiming healing over their little bodies and rebuking the enemy too. I am thankful that I'm well at least and that I know who's name to call on in time of need!

I'm sorry the children have been sick - it is so sad when they are! Hats can be very tiring but after all, what else would we be doing? What a blessing!

I'm so sorry those cute babies have been sick. I hope everyone is feeling better very soon! Mom's are the best to hold their babies and their bowls while they are sick. I'm always there to rub their backs and wipe their mouths. I wouldn't want anyone else to do it!

I know I'm a couple days late on this, but I hope your kiddos are back to better now and that you didn't get sick, too!!
