Hey y’all! {for Kimber} I hope your Thursday is going good. We are in the middle of a downpour right now. The kids are enjoying watching it. I’m just thinking that in about an hour, we have to go out in it. It’s always fun running through the rain holding a kid in my arms, and herding the other kid and the pup to our destination. No free arms to hold an umbrella. Fun.
So, I have a couple things today. I was planning on today’s post being all about hormones – because as of late I’m completely mesmerized by them – but I’ve decided to save that for tomorrow. I can tell all of you are already waiting in anticipation for that. Seriously, though. Our entire body functions because of hormones, and when those little suckers are out of balance, which 99.9% of people’s are – then we have a myriad of problems: weight gain, headaches, diabetes, PMS, infertility, insomnia, joint stiffness, pain, nausea, heart disease, liver disease, high blood pressure, obesity, stunted growth and the list goes on and on. I am completely enthralled with it all.
So, I’m going to start doing some posts on these. Julie, I have found and keep finding more info about a sluggish Thyroid. Very interesting stuff. Anyhoodle….that’s tomorrow.

Today.
You get to see my handwriting. I know – this is monumental and you are overly-joyed at this. I was tagged by Nicolasa at Keepin’ It In Perspective to do this. So, here were the rules:
Write down the following, snap a pic and post it. I scanned mine!
1. Name/ Blog Name
2. Right handed, left handed or both
3. Favorite letters to write
4. Least favorite letters to write
5. Write: The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
6. Write in caps:
CRAB
HUMOR
KALEIDOSCOPE
PAJAMAS
GAZILLION
7. Favorite song lyrics
8. Tag 7 people
9. Any special note or drawing
Now I’m suppose to tag 7 people. How do I do that? I’d like to see everyone’s, but here we go:
Brandi @ My Three Bubs
Julie @ Foursons
Heather @ Oswald Cuties
Paige @ Paige’s Page
Mich @ “Mich”
Kim @ ‘PAIR’ SLICES
Sarah @ Strength of Faith
Kristin @ These Little Girls of Mine

Now, my award.
Tree at Mother of Pearl It Is gave me this cool award, so I’m passing it along.
The rules state that I have to share 5 things about me & then pass this on to 5 Beautiful Bloggers. So here goes.....
1) My almost 5 year old daughter still has a monitor in her room.
2) I talk to animals. Most of the time the animals talk back to me. I usually have ongoing conversations with them.
3) I can’t go to bed without washing my face. Ever.
4) I have water with me wherever I go. I’ve done this for about 7 years.
5) I can probably count on two hands how many times I HAVEN’T made my bed in the almost 10 years I’ve been married. It has to be made everyday and there is an art to it. Pillow patterns facing a certain way, the throw blanket in a certain spot. A tad OCD, I know.
I’m passing this along to:
Katie at Bringing on the Lloyds

Now, onto the earth.
Okay, so we all know today is Earth Day. I’m not a big ‘celebrator’ of this day, not that I don’t like our Earth, but I just don’t get involved in the hype of celebrating Mother Earth. In fact, I don’t refer to Earth as Mother Earth.
Some people, when they first meet me and learn about me, they think I’m a ‘crunchy mama’. You know, native of Colorado, like to recycle, I have a compost bin in my back yard, I’m into organic foods, natural and organic skin care, alternative forms of medicine, being outdoors, love animals, etc, etc, etc.
But, it’s not because I’m a tree hugger, not that I mean to offend anyone with that statement. I live amongst many of those – many are my friends. BUT – in short, I prefer to highly esteem the Creator, not the creation.
I could write a whole other post on this, but I’m sure many have already stopped reading. But, I did read a great post the other day at Tally’s Place about The Origins of Earth Day. It was very interesting.
Well, off to get my hair cut! I’m a little shaggy right now :o)
remember to:
live.laugh.love.and.celebrate.life.
“IN THE beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned, and) created the heavens and the earth.
The earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters.”
Genesis 1: 1-2

Totally agree with you on giving The Creator the glory for His creation, not idolizing the Earth as if it created itself. I am very interested to hear about the hormones thing....I almost said your hormones, but that didn't sound right. Haha! I just know mine are messed up because I have fatigue, weight gain, headaches, unexplained infertility....I'm just a big mess! LOL!
That was a neat handwriting thing. You have nice handwriting. And that is one of my favorite song lyrics too :)
Have fun getting your hair done!
P.S. I can count on 2 hands the number of times I've actually made my bed. ha!
Love your take on Earth Day. And that's all I'm gonna say about it 'cause this is your blog and I'm not goin' all controversial on it. :)
I like your handwriting too, I'll have to work on this one!
I like YOUR Earth day celebration :)
thanks for the shout out on y'all...I have to admit it is hard for me to change how I type it but I'm doing it!!
I love the handwriting challenge!! I wasn't tagged but I may do it anyway {is that wrong?}
:)
HA! You are the coolest, twin... EVAH! I like your Earth Day interpretation as well.
I also see that you use the cursive-print hybrid (I write like that too, but a little sloppier... I guess you'll see as soon as I have time to scan in my answers). :)
I guess I will have to work on my writing. :)
Happy earth day! Love the verses.
I knew you'd have beautiful handwriting!
Congrats on your award!
You have such neat handwriting! I used to, but now that I type so much when I actually write it looks so messy! LOL!
I agree on washing your face before bed. Some nights I don't feel like doing it, but then I can't sleep!! So weird!
can't wait for the hormones post! thank you for the award! and I'm getting my hair cut on saturday... ah! it needs trimmed so badly! :)
You have cute handwriting. I can't wait to hear more about the hormones and congrats on your award!!!
People would prolly consider me crunchy but I'm just doing what I think is best for our family!
I LOVE what you said about Earth Day - "I prefer to highly esteem the CREATOR not the creation". I was trying to figure out all day yesterday why I didn't really like Earth Day but couldn't quite put it into words. You words are exactly what I was thinking - thank you for being so bold to share this and reminding me who I really need to be praising.
I'm with you on the Earth Day thing. Conserving energy and being conscious of our waste and such is good but I, like you, prefer to do this as respect for God's creation and think of it this way.
Neat handwriting post. I'd not seen this one anywhere before. Love your handwriting. :)
I love your handwriting and I am honored to participate!!!
Stopping by to get caught up on what I've missed over here! Totally agree with what you said about Earth Day. So true!
Love your handwriting and saw Kristin's post on it too! I might just have to join in on this one because I love handwriting!
Congrats on your award too!
KARI!!!!
I am so sorry I missed this WONDERFUL post! Thanks so much for the TAG and the AWARD. You are too kind!
I've been dealing with a house full of sickos and the final cherry on top, I GOT SICK! I have been a total blog slacker. You are one of two blogs that I am checking tonight! I am looking forward to your hormones post that I passed on my way to THIS post. My hormones are totally out of wack due to PCOS!
Thanks again!! Have a great weekend!
Congrats on your award!
