A Little Girl’s Choice

A new Easter dress.

That was always a special time for me when I was little.

There were usually three occasions where we would get a new outfit when I was young.  Christmas, the beginning of school and Easter.  I would get so excited for my new dress and shoes – the pretty pastel colors, never worn shoes.  A girl’s dream

This morning I set out with Scout and Bella to the mall so we could get an Easter dress for Bella.  After going to a couple stores, we ended up at Dillard’s and found the most ADORABLE spring and summer dresses.

Bella was in dress euphoria.  She was running from display to display saying, ‘Mom, LOOOOK at this one.  It’s soooo beautiful.’  Then she would take them off and hold them up to her and ask me, ‘What do you think?’

That was fun.

I could have bought at least 20 different dresses, but we narrowed it down to 3 for her to make her final decision.  It was hard and the one I liked the best was a tad too loose on her.  But it was still her decision to make.

And she did.

100% SilkPretty pastels. A little pink shoulder wrap to wear with it.

She looked beautiful in it.

I can’t wait to see her wear it to church on Sunday with her head held high.  Because, for some reason, when you have the pretty new outfit on and shiny white shoes – you feel beautiful.  And she should.

I wish everyone a wonderful Resurrection Sunday.  It has been an amazing Holy Week for us here.  Today is Good Friday and we are attending a communion service at church tonight.  The resurrection - it is one of the most important events in history.  Some people would say the birth of Jesus is – and it is important, but if it weren’t for the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, we would not have the gift of Salvation or The Holy Spirit.  For both, I am eternally grateful!

“The joyful news that He is risen does not change the contemporary world.  Still before us lie work, discipline, sacrifice.  But the fact of Easter gives us the spiritual power to do the work, accept the discipline, and make the sacrifice.”

Beautiful! My Mama buys my children their Easter clothes and they all get so excited. I'm not sure what my Ms. S would do if we took her shopping with us. She would be in dress heaven! As it is she is counting down the days to Easter to wear her new dress!
