My Blogging Career Is Taking Off

Okay, so maybe it’s not a career, but still.

I’ve had a couple opportunities presented to me over the past couple weeks that I think are pretty cool.

First, I was contacted my NewParent.com to be a feature blogger on their site.  Now, I realize that there were probably 1,000 other people contacted for the same thing – but it was still cool to receive.  Once you are a feature blogger, you can continue to add content and you are exposed to a larger number of people.  So, I’ll let you all know when my ‘special day’ is!

Second, last week I was contacted by a local PR rep about being on a panel here in town – for some pretty major companies.  There are 8 of us, all bloggers, and on April 26th, we will be sitting with representatives from these companies discussing the blogging world and how it can help them and getting their products and/or services out into blogging land.  They specifically were interested in meeting with ‘Mommy Bloggers’ – so this should be fun!  I’m not sure how much info I can divulge right now, so I’ll wait until after the panel to let you all know how that went!  In doing this – I’ll be receiving tons of swag and gift cards from these companies.  Hello!!!!  Won’t turn that down :o)

On to the next.

I’m am thiiisssss close to being done with my certification test.  This last part has proven to be the most difficult, but it’s all good!  I’ve also taken on three of my own research projects and am finding out some very interesting facts about our bodies, how they work and how we are destroying them on a daily basis.  I mean, I already knew the last part, which is why I’ve enjoyed this subject for the past 17 years, but now I’m getting into the nitty gritty of it all.

I wouldn’t mind sharing this kind of info with you guys, but would you even want to hear about it?  If not, I’ll just do it all on another blog and spare you the boredom it might bring to you if I posted it all here :o)  Let me know what you think!

And the next.

Doing more checking up on my Doula Certification, it is going to be a 2 day 20 hour boot camp.  Intense.  I can do intense.  The reading list they have for you is long, but I read a lot of them already when I was pregnant with Scout.  Yes.  I’m cool like that.  So – will also need to begin preparing for that.

And now about the name.

I’ve narrowed down my business name to a few choices and I’m going to run them by hubby and see what he thinks, then I’m gonna put a poll on my sidebar and let you all vote to see what you think.

Okay, that about wraps it up for today.  The sun is out, it’s suppose to be warm again today.  Snowed yesterday.  Melted yesterday afternoon.  Blue, cloudless sky today.  Love me some Colorado!
