So, Here I Sit.

(this was written last night, obviously)

Tonight I sit here alone

The kids are asleep.  The flock is asleep.  And Hubby is on a plane to Georgia.  Very last minute trip for work.

He’ll be back tomorrow night, so it’s not a long trip.  I just like it when he’s here.  So does he.  He’s a home body in that sense.

He hasn’t had to travel for work in a while and that has been nice.  He was gone quite a bit at the end of my pregnancy with Bella and the first couple years after she was born.  Those were always rough, because she was a handful.

But, I realized today as he left for the airport that one thing hasn’t changed about him traveling.  He truly doesn’t like leaving his family.

As he was saying his goodbyes, the tears were welling up.  This is one thing that he has always done when he’s had to leave us.  He has a hard time saying goodbye.  Oh how sweet he was to get choked up today – even though he’ll be with us again in 24 hours.

Bella never understood what it meant for him to travel, but tonight she got itAnd she cried.  She didn’t want daddy to leave.  She asked me if he was ‘going to Chinese’,  whatever that meant.  I told her, ‘No, he’s going to Atlanta.’  When I said that, she cried and cried hard.  I had to comfort my little girl who wanted to go on the trip with her daddy, but knew she had to stay.  She hugged him tight when she said goodbye.  How can that not make a parent smile?  Or cry?

So, here I sit, without Hubby in the house.  I should be excited to have some time to myself – but I miss him.  I’ll just go read and go to bed and wait for him to call when he lands in Georgia – about 10:30pm or so my time.

Then tomorrow life goes on as usual.  It’s suppose to rain – blah!  The nice weather has been great for the kids to occupy themselves throughout the day.  I guess I’ll manage :o)  Missy will be getting her yearly overhaul tomorrow.  The vet comes once a year to trim her hooves, clean her teeth and ears and all that fun stuff.  She’s 17 1/2 years old and she has had the same vet her entire life.  Missy D.O.E.S.N.’T. like her.  She doesn’t even like her voice – it’s funny.  She knows she comes to knock her out and mess with her and she wants nothing to do with her!  That’ll be fun.

Well, this was a random, nothing to say post – but it’s what I had on my mind tonight.  Had so much going on today, I wasn’t able to get on and be creative!  I won’t be posting this until Friday morning – so have a great Friday!!!

I did get an award last week that I need to post – along with 7 facts about me that you don’t know.  I’m having a tough one with that.  I think I’ve told you everything weird about me.  I need to think hard!  There’s got to be something….

Also, I wanted to congratulate Veronica @ The Veronica Blog on the birth of her daughter, Alivia Grace, who was born April 12th weighing in at 7 lbs 15 oz and 20 1/2” in length.  Congratulations lady!

And a couple more pics of me when I was younger…

I’m not sure how old I was here.  I actually see a bit of Scout in this photo.  I’ve never seen any of me in Scout’s features (outside of the ears), but something about this looks like my little guy!Untitled-15

That’s me on the right with my famous piggy tails!  My sister is on the left and our cousin is in the middle.Untitled-23

Hope you have a happy Friday and a great weekend, Kari! I do think that picture of you looks like Scout and the bottom one looks like Bella. :) Hope your husband has a nice trip and that you enjoy your weekend with him when he gets back.

Dang, that Kristin is fast. I'll have to settle with second. ;)

I use to hate it when hubby went out of town. The hardest part were the goodbye's, but after he was gone, we kind of got in a routine.

*giggle* That first picture does look like Scout (especially the ears). :)

I hope your day flies by and your hubby is home and in your arms, scooping up those sweet kids, and you're all enjoying each other in no time! It is really sweet that he is so emotional over leaving - definitely something to make you feel good! :-)
Its raining here today too. BOO! Enjoy your day!

I love old pictures. I think it's so sweet that your husband got choked up about leaving. I too hope that your Friday passes quickly and that he's home before you know it. Have a great day!

I hate the out of town stuff too. My hubs worked out of town for 3 years. He would leave on Monday and come home on Friday. When he lost that job we moved back to CA where my family is. Now the out of town junk is minimal.

Yep. Scout and Bella both look like you. Those Anghis traits are pretty strong!

I actually remember when both of those pictures were taken. Seems like just yesterday. Time keeps marching on even when we don't want it to sometimes. Some seasons in our lives are just so good they could stay that way forever. Again I say, soon.

I don't like it when hubby is gone either. He is gone for 4 days every March for a conference. Those are tough for all of us.
Hope you slept well and had a good day today.
Cute pictures of you.

Funny, but I'm fine when the hubby is gone, because our days are so very busy, but I miss him bunches at night.

Love the pictures.

I can certainly identify with wanting Hubby home! :) Look at the bright side though - at least it's only a short business trip! When my hubs goes, it's usually for months and to a warzone! I like your version of "biz trips" much better! Lol ;)

Awwww!
I hate it when my husband is out of town! Especially at night! I take for granted the comfort I have just having him around!

Love the piggie tails! It is hard when our hubbies have to travel. My Nolan especially struggles.
