Yesterday was a very sad day for my family. Another one of our precious pugs passed away. Our very special George. He passed away peacefully with my dad holding him around 4:00 pm on Monday, April 5, 2010. He was 9 1/2 years old.
Our George.
Our Special George.
Many of the photos below were taken the year we got him and are a tad grainy, but they still show what a cute puppy he was. I know there are quite a few, but how do you pick from thousands of photos?
George was the third pug to join our family. He was born October 20, 2000 and my parents brought him home in January 2001. They bought George for Jesse. You see, after I was married in November 2000, I moved out and took with me Missy and Jerry. Those were Jesse companions and he became very mournful once they were no longer with him in the house. After over a month of Jesse not wanting to eat, sulking and staring out the front window – they decided it was time to get Jesse another brother.
And he got his puppy, George.
He was a big teddy bear of a pug. He was a pure bred, but by looking at him it appeared as if there some bulldog in him. We have always joked that there was something in the woodpile in his family for him to have those extra bulldog features.
He had three trademarks. One, his tongue always hung out of his mouth – it was extra long. Two, he would lay on his back with his legs in the air. Three, he had the biggest, roundest eyes!
He was so loveable and always wanted to be a lap dog – even though he was a big boy. He loved being held. He always loved being under things. Under desks, under tablecloths – those were his special places.
George had a few nicknames:
Bundles
Bundles of George
Puppy
Puppy G.

Walter (an inside joke with the family)
George, we will all miss you so much. You always made us smile. I’ll miss your goofy facial expressions. I’ll miss telling you to ‘save some water for the fish’ every time you’d get a drink of water. I’ll miss your big eyes and long tongue. I’ll miss all your ‘extries.” Jerry Bean is going to miss having his brothers to play with and hang out with. You are finally with your brother, Jesse. My heart is broken and wish I could see you again. Soon, my George.
Love,
Miss Kari
Here are some photos with his brothers.

I'm so sorry for your loss. He was indeed a big boy! How full of love his life was, though. He sounds like special friend for your whole family.
I'm so so sorry for your loss. Just know that he is doggy heaven looking down still cuddling at your feet:)

I'm sorry Kari. You all must be heartbroken.
So sorry...it is always hard to lose a beloved pet.
Cute pictures of a cute dog and his family.

I'm so sorry to hear about this Kari. I really enjoyed seeing all the pictures of him. They were so cute and put a smile on my face :) Saying a prayer for you!
So sorry for your family... it's hard to lose a pet
Losing a pet is so difficult. I am so sorry for your loss. Just remember that he'll be up there waiting for his brothers to play with some day.
So sorry, sweet girl. Holding you all in prayer.
I am so sorry to hear this. Pets are so special and they hold a special place in our hearts. God has a place for them for sure. So sorry.
Pets really are just like family and there is no doubt George is special. I am sorry for your loss but it looks like you have many great memories to live in your heart.
Aw, I'm so sorry Kari!
Sounds like he was such a great dog! 9.5 years doesn't seem very old?
I'm sorry. That's sad. My mom lost her cat a month or so ago. It's hard. He was mine before I got married but my mom ended up keeping him. I hope you all are doing okay. Kassie is my world. I can't imagine the day she goes to a better place.
George, you are the love of my life. You are with your Jesse again, the other love of my life. This is hard to bear but you are one happy sweetheart of a pug today being reunited with your other half. Mama loves you both sooooo much! It won't be long that we are all together again. Hold down the fort for us you two little sweethearts and goofballs.
I'm so sorry George passed away. :(
Oh so sorry. What a sweet sweet pug. Loved all the pictures. The superdog costumes are adorable.
How sad! I'm so very sorry. I've lost a couple dear pets, and it's extremely hard. George looks like such a sweetie!
