A Little Boy. A Little Pin-Striped Suit.

I have always thought little boys in suits were down right adorable.

Even his crankiness didn’t stop him from making me smile!

He was so handsome in his little suit and tie.  His shirt kept coming un-tucked – typical boy.

Even Bella was all dressed up.

This past Sunday, our little boy, Scout, was dedicated during the Sunday evening church service.

Our church does baby dedications once every four months and there were about 5 other families who had their babies dedicated that night as well.  There were 2 sets of twins, which was cool.  It isn’t a special ‘dedication service’, but they take time out at the beginning of the service to do this.

(notice his black and white crocs…yes, we are true ‘Coloradans’)

Each baby received a hand made blanket that had their names hand stitched in them along with verse Psalm 121:7-8

“The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”

The whole verse was stitched.  They also received a commemorative plate with all their birth stats, a Bible and a certificate. Our church and Pastors Tim and Gayla Bagwell are amazing and so loving towards the members of their church.  Pastor Bagwell was very sincere in his prayers of dedication over these children.  (I like this shot because you can see Scout on the screen in the back)

We weren’t sure Scout was going to let our pastor hold him as he prayed over him.  Even the pastor wasn’t sure by the look Scout was giving him.  But he was as still as could be.

We are going to have another dedication for Scout so all the family can attend. My grand-parents came to the service this night.

It was a very special time for me and hubby to have our second child dedicated to the Lord.
Bella was dedicated when she was 17 months and 2 days old.  Scout was 1 day short of being 16 months old.

Her dress was from Nordstrom’s and was an ecru and light pink color.  It had ribbon and flowers on it and was all ‘crinkled’.  My parents bought it for her specifically for her dedication.Photobucket

You can’t see them and for some reason I didn’t have a photo of them, but she had on pink ‘slipper’ shoes that were covered in glass beads.  They were A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E.Photobucket

It was a very special night!  We believe it is a wonderful heritage to leave to our children.

SO cute! OMW, he is such a doll! I LOVE how you combed his hair, but by the end of the night it was sticking up. ;) I was thinking in my head 'are those Crocs???' and then you answered my question! HAHA! I've never seen the black/white ones. Cute, cute!

I love seeing pics of Bella when she was a baby too. My goodness, the pink! I can't wait! :)

Precious! I love those services! Your children are blessed to have the parents that they do and to already be so grounded in church. I love to hear stories like this and of course I LOVE the pictures!

That picture of him being dedicated with you all in the background almost made me cry! I love dedicating (or baptizing in my tradition, because we practice infant baptism) babies into the church. There's just something about promising to bring up children in the eyes of faith - it's so beautiful.

I did notice the crocs right away. too cute. I think it is so important to dedicate them too. Good for you. Promising in front of the church to raise them in the fear of the Lord.

What a blessed night for your family! I think this is a wonderful thing to do for your children. We can't be with them always but what a great added shield of protection in this dedication. I did the same for my son when he was about Scout's age. =)
