I Got Everything I Didn’t Want

True Story Tuesday.
true story tuesday final_thumb

Back in high school, around 18 years ago (I graduated in 1993), I clearly remember a couple things I definitely didn’t want.

One:  I never had a desire to get married.

Two:  I never had a desire to have a baby – or more than one baby for that matter.

Three:  I never had a desire to stay in Colorado. I wanted to get out, travel and see the world.

Four:  I never wanted to be a career person.

Five:  I never wanted to be high tech.  Cassette tapes were good enough for me, who needed cd’s?  And social networking (turning my nose up right now)! Whatever!

How has life panned out for me in regards to my list of 5 things I didn’t want?  Well…

One:  On November 4, 2000, I married my best friend.  Ten years later we are still best friends and I know I couldn’t have married a better person.

Two:  On July 8, 2005 I gave birth to my daughter, Bella Joy.

On Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2009, I gave birth to my second child, my son, Scout Weston.

Three:  I currently reside in Colorado and am amazed daily by it’s beauty and feel so blessed to live here.  Although Hubby has tried moving me all over the place (in suggestion only), we have our roots planted in Colorado for the time being.

Four:  Although I have had hundreds several different jobs since I was 15, I have recently embarked on a journey of owning my own Wellness Coaching business and am enjoying every minute of it.  I am my own boss!

Five:  All I can say is over the years I have secretly, well, openly I guess, had the dream of being an IMF agent (Impossible Mission Force agent).  Sunglasses that play video then detonate.  Watches that have phones and radar.  Dropping from glass ceilings with nothing but a cable and amazingly enough stopping right before you cross over the laser beams – what’s not to want with that kind of life?  So, maybe I don’t have all that cool stuff, but I did get an iPhone last December.  I’m still trying to figure out how I functioned without one all these 35 years I’ve been alive.

And on July 16, 2008 – two years and four days ago – I wrote my first blog post on bloggerI opened a MySpace account, then eventually moved to Facebook and found it much cooler than MySpace and shut down the MySpace account.  I am on twitter, I have a shop on Etsy and a few other websites to speak of.  I definitely never thought I’d have my own domain name:  www.karinewsom.com!

As you can see, I got EVERYTHING I Didn’t Want and I couldn’t be happier and I’m excited as to what my future holds.

Isn’t it beautiful how life works out?!!!

What a beautiful post, is that a pig in that picture? the one of the back yard? My eyes are bad, so forgive me if that's a dog but it looks (to my bad eyes) like a pig.

Enjoyed the posts

*giggle* 'forgive me if that's a dog' @ Simple Life's comment made me smile.

I didn't want to get married or have babies either.... hmmmmm. I also thought people who homeschooled were freaks. *shrug* I guess you just never know.

It is kind of crazy how things turn out! I always knew I wanted to be a Mom and I hoped I would be able to stay home with them. I never thought I would leave UT and I NEVER expected my entire family to follow us to AZ!!

I see my life in the exact same way. I guess its right what they say... "If you want God to laugh, tell him YOUR plans for the future!" Ultimately he and only he knows whats going to make you happy.. even if you're not sure about it! I never thought I'd be living back in my home town, and have my son already.. but its the best thing that ever happened to me! I am so blessed..

but it looks like we both are!

Isn't it wonderful how God's plans are so much bigger, and better, than our own! Glad to run across your blog via TST! Now following! :)

I can totally relate! Isn't it funny how we think we're going to plan out our whole lives when we're 18?!!

I love hearing how God has taken other people's "I'll never" moments and turned them into "I couldn't imagine life without" memories. I have so many of those. Glad you're still in CO!
