I Blinked.

Have you ever done that?  Blinked?

One day your single. Blink.

Now you’re married.

One day you don’t have kids. Blink.

Now you have your first child.

One day you know that you never want anymore children. Blink.

Now you’re pregnant with Baby #2.

I blinked.

Saturday morning I woke up and realized that Scout turned 18 months old that day.Photobucket

February 14, 2009 seems like yesterday.  But it’s already been a year and a half since the day I gave birth to Scout.

So, Happy 18 months my little Bubba!

You have grown so fast.  You are doing so many things now, I won’t list through them all.  But I do like how you point at everything and say, ‘Was sat?’ (what’s that?) and I like how every time we change your diaper, you point to the diaper and say ‘Duhtee’ (dirty).  I enjoy your giggles and I just love how you run – you look so cute.  Your bright blue eyes and bright blonde hair make me smile.  I think it’s amazing that we get stopped by so many people who want to touch your hair.  When you run and give your Sissy big hugs – it melts my heart.  And even though I get tired of reading one book 174 times in a row, I think it’s so cute how much you enjoy books now.  Or how you screech ‘Deeeee’ every time you see an animal.  You take after your Mama with your love for animals.  Well, except for Granny Bev’s tiny, fluffy cat which you are scared of for some reason (and it drives your Daddy nuts.  In fact, Daddy told you once to ‘grow some’ after one of your little embarrassing fits.)

You have some issues with the vacuum (might be because I tease you with it-readers, don’t judge me, you do the same thing with your kids), but you are a boy's boy because you can’t get enough of all the power tools that Daddy has and uses.  You like to caress the power washer and you always place your hand on Daddy’s motorcycle and say ‘dada’.  The weed wacker fascinates you and as of late, the chain saw makes you giggle.  Yep.  A boys boy!  Finally, Daddy has some one to touch all his new power tools and Mommy doesn’t have to anymore!

You and Bella are my special treasures and I love you with all that I am!  Thank you for making me smile, more than you make me scream!

I’m looking forward to watching you grow and as Bella starts school next week, we will have the chance to get closer since your dear Sissy won’t be here to entertain you all day long anymore.

Sigh.

Now it’s mommy’s turn and I am honored!

I love you, Bubba!

OMGOSH! He's a doll! And, yep, if I saw him in person, the first thing I'd do is reach for that hair!! ;)

BB still has a huge ugly blue/green knot on his forehead... hmmmm, I don't think it's going to be gone by the 20th. I might have to get the concealer out if I do a post for his 18mo. HAHA!

Happy 18 months Scout!!! :)

Yup, that blinking thing will get you every time. He's so cute, squeeze him tight and tell him to stop growing.

Oh, dear. I think as mothers we've all blinked, way too often. For example I had a new baby yesterday and today, he's seven months old. And I can no longer even lift his older brother anymore... :(

Taking time today to visit all my fellow Mommytographers! I haven't been a good classmate in making the rounds, but I have enjoyed all the unique photos through my reader.

Great shots! We have little ones only a few days apart...mine was born on 2/5/09 and yes, the time just flew by.

Have a great week, Tamara
