So, yesterday I was chillin’ on the couch while Bubba was napping and I was obtaining further education on how to run a successful consulting business, when all of a sudden the phone rang. I glanced down to see who it was, figuring it was Hubby annoying me being super sweet calling just to say ‘Hi!’
But when I glanced down, instead I saw this (sorry it’s fuzzy):
AHHHHH!!!!!!
The baby’s coming! Ladybub is on her way! Woohoo!
I have been WAITING for this call and it finally came. Needless to say, I was excited!
So, I pick up the phone all excited and say “Hello?????”
Dogs barking.
“Brandi?????”
Dogs Barking and Baby gibberish.
“What’s going on?” I think to myself….
Oh my goodness, Brandi’s in labor, she can’t get a hold of Daddy Bub, the older boys are outside playing and don’t even know their mom is having a baby and the only one she could think of calling was her TWIN, but she’s having such bad contractions that she can’t talk, so she hit my name in her phone so Baby Bub could let me know Ladybub was coming!!! That has to be it!

“BRANDI????”
“Yes?” She finally answers.
Oh good, she can talk now, she must be in between contractions.
“Brandi?!!!” I say again in case she isn’t fully coherent.
“Yes????” she says again, although this time there is a ‘Duh!’ sound in her voice. Not so friendly anymore. Not cool.
“Well, hey Brandi, this is Kari Newsom…I think your baby just called me…”
And so went the explanation of what happened which you can read on her post here.
Was I a little disappointed that she wasn’t in labor? Sort of.
Was I a little disappointed that she didn’t seem too happy to be talking to me at first? Um, yea!
Was I a little bummed that this wasn’t THE phone call I’ve been anxiously waiting for. Well, duh!
Was I overly excited to FINALLY hear the voice of my TWIN that I’ve known for almost 2 years in bloggy land – but have never held an actual phone conversation with?
OF COURSE!!!!!
I was elated to say the least. How fun that Baby Bub was messing with her phone and called ME of all people.
*Sigh*
And guess what – she has a MAJOR accent! Haha! I love it!
She probably thought I sounded like a typical white girl. If only Coloradans had some sort of a cool accent too!
So, still no Ladybub.
But that’s okay – I got to talk with Brandi and that was enough to make my day that much brighter!
Thanks, TWIN!
Just don’t call me again until the little girl is on her way out – kapeesh????!!!!!
Until then, I will wait!
"You have been my friend. That in itself is a tremendous thing. I wove my webs for you because I liked you. After all, what's a life, anyway? We're born, we live a little while, we die. A spider's life can't help being something of a mess, with all this trapping and eating flies. By helping you, perhaps I was trying to lift up my life a trifle. Heaven knows anyone's life can stand a little of that."

That is too funny and yet so cool.
That's so funny! So cool you got to chat with her finally!
Hoping the baby comes soon!
You crack me up! Love it!
HAHAHA! I'm still laughing! If you didn't sound so much like my mom with your 'professional phone voice,' I wouldn't have been like um, yeah (duh) this IS Brandi!!! :D OMGoodness! LOL! I still don't know how he managed to do it... we have the phone 'locked' and you have to push * and then 'back' before dialing out. It was just too, too funny. And, AWESOME! :)
Oh I got so excited yesterday! But at least you got to talk to her - that's a bonus.
That is TOO funny! :) Love it!
Love it! How fun to talk to her and her little boy.
That's funny...and awesome. Btw, she won't be having the baby till Sunday. Because the 5th of September is the best day EVAH!!!!!!
thats so cute!!!! my friends 18 month old dialed this number and the lady he called happened to have a toddler too!!!! So OMG you wouldn't beleive what ensued. both toddlers kept calling each other back and forth.. apparently they were hitting redial. its the weirdest story i've ever heard and id didn't even believe it till my friend showed me her phone bill list. LOL. so finally my frineds kid forgets the phone and moves on to terrorize another kitchen appliance and my friend comes accross the phone. LOL so she calls the lady thinking she missed a call. And the lady was like hold on let me check something and replies saying no you called me first. so finally they realized that it was their kids playing on the phone back and forth. funny bussiness!

hahaha had to laugh that she didn't seem excited! I bet she really was!
She was just checking to see if you were ready at any moment, you passed the test!
I was just thinking the other day that if I posted a video of me talking on my blog everyone would probably comment on my accent that I don't think I have. But, I know I have an accent when I'm mad and reprimanding someone. Somehow it comes out really strong.
Jules, you must vlog now. In fact, all of us should do a vlog and see how stupid we sound!
Hee hee! That Baby Bub is too funny! He KNEW that you two needed to have a little chat!
Daisy is really good at dialing numbers on the phone. She'll be playing with the phone and all of a sudden I hear my Mom's voice!
that is REALLY funny! I had read brandi's post and thought it was great that baby bubs called you! :) very fun
That was funny :)
I can imagine it all running in your mind in those few seconds :)
Enjoy ladies :D
I am thinking that maybe we should not ever talk...your (ahem) respect for me may forever be gone when you hear my accent.
But I love that baby bub called you! How fun!
