Yes, I am THAT person!
…who completely washes the dishes before she puts them in the dishwasher.
…who writes out her grocery list in the order that she walks through the store.
…who has to arrange her pillows on her bed in a V shape before she can get into bed.
…who puts her laundry away the same day it’s washed.
…who still keeps a monitor in the room of her 5 year old daughter.
…who has a certain order for unloading the dishwasher.
…who has to have her 3 brushes in a certain order on the counter while doing her hair.
…who has to have the closet doors in the bedroom totally shut so she can go to sleep and not think that her house is out of order.
…who always checks on the kids ‘one more time’ before going to bed.
…who has to make the bed everyday, with the pillow patterns the same way and the lines on her throw pillows the same way.
…who lines her glasses in perfect rows in her cupboard.
…who thinks that anybody not like this is a little off kilter.
Yes, I AM that person.
I thought this was normal.
Hubby has informed me that it, indeed, is not!
“Each day, and the living of it, has to be a conscious creation in which discipline and order are relieved with some play and pure foolishness.”

With you on some, shaking my head on others. The grocery store one - for sure! It just doesn't make any sense any other way!
I must say I'm totally with you on a lot of these, but totally laughing at some of them :) Isn't it funny how we all have little quirks that we think are "normal" :)
Hey, we all have our own little quirks like these! I know some of mine are the same.
I wash my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher and I always check on my kids before going to bed to make sure they are tucked in good. Everything else, I'm thinking you would go coo coo in my house!
I'm a bit OCD too and I love it. I do a lot of the same things you do. I think a lot of moms have to to keep our sanity lol.
I remember your bedroom when you lived at home. Is this the same person who wrote this blog?
Well no one can call you in for an episode of hoarders! Sounds like you are all sorts of organized!
I love when I have my grocery list in order of how I walk through the store! It makes the shopping trip that much faster!
I was shaking my head like yeah, that's me in lots of these until I got further down in the list. My only comment on this is have a third kid and some of those things get thrown out the window. I used to be such a perfectionist and then I had three kiddos, LOL!
Hope you've been good and sorry for being MIA on here. Life's been the usual CRAZY busy!
I remember once upon a time being a whole lot like your list. However, my kiddos are teenagers now and I have been married almost 18. Some things I gave up on or let go of.
This post made me smile.
Welcome to the OCD Mommy club (my husband doesn't get it either :)
I counted 5 of those things to be true for me too! You are normal in my book! :-)
I am sure he has his quirks too but I enjoyed reading yours :).
Oh NO!!!! I do not think you would like me. I am canceling my flight to CO.
My laundry is in the basket (folded) but not put away.
My dishes are only rinsed when placed in the dishwater.
My kids have sound machines but not monitors.
I hardly ever make the bed.
BUT--I DO make my grocery list in the order I walk through the store.
I fear for our relationship!
:)

I would agree with most of those...but don't open my kitchen cupboards...you might have a heart attack. LOL
Ha!! That was fun! I totally do my grocery list that way too and wash the dishes before I put them in. My hubby gives me a hard time because I have one side of the sink that you're supposed to put your dirty dishes in, and the other side is for once I've rinsed them off and they're ready to go to the dishwasher. I WILL yell at you if you put your dirty dish on the clean side. LOL!!!
I think you are perfectly normal. I do things like that. I thought I was the only person!
Wow, a lot of those fit me perfectly. Except the kiddy ones...I don't have any! This time your hubs is wrong!
I'm with your hubby...lol. What's normal anyway?
Sometimes it takes another view point for us to realize how normal we're not! haha!
But then again, whose to say what normal is?
Note to self: Do not ever invite Kari over to the house.
(Love the picture of the kiddos.)
I totally have to have the closet doors shut before I go to bed, however, I can not sleep with our bedroom shut! I love your list and can relate!
Yes, dear, we are twins. ;)
P.S. If I get up in the middle of the night... wait, hahaha... I'm so tired that made no sense... if I get up???!!! That should have been WHEN I get up MANY, MANY times in the middle of the night to feed the baby, go to the restroom and/or get a drink, I check on the kiddos AGAIN.
LOVE the pic!
Hmmmm...I do about 90% of those things. Maybe WE ARE normal and your hubby is off kilter. :)
